Plot:
“Kings of the Road” (1976), the third film in Wim Wenders’ road trilogy after “Alice in the Cities” (1974) and “Wrong Move” (1975), is, more than his other films, a film about cinema and life. The chance encounter of two men (Bruno and Robert) and the beginning of their shared journey explores the personification of masculine identities and post-war alienation, social upheaval in Germany, cinema (and cinemas), and life. Wenders’ film is a lament for cinema, while paradoxically alluding to the revival of the medium in post-war Germany.
