The plot of this valuable silent film, which is itself a historical document of early Swedish cinema, is based on a true story that took place in Iceland. In this film, a couple decides to stand up against an issue they believe is unjust and accept the consequences. Since its creation, nearly 106 years ago, this film has been invoked and criticized by social/art theorists at least three times.
