Kamran Shirdel (1939, Tehran) an Iranian writer, literary translator, filmmaker and photographer is one of the most influential figures in the new wave of Iranian cinema. After studying in Italy and making the movie “Mirrors”, he returned to Tehran in 1964 and continued his artistic activity in Iran. Since the very beginning of filmmaking, Shirdel has experienced different views and new experiences such as architecture, painting and music. Curiosity and boldness in editing and choosing the subject and music are among the most important components of his filmmaking, and his films offer a new approach to the filmmaking audience.
